Abstract
EThis study was conducted to measure the body weight of Holstein friesian dairy cow using a computer vision system. The pixel values of images got from the top and side view of dairy cow with two cameras and personal computer were calculated and the correlation between this values and body weight was analysed with simple linear regression. The results are as follows.
1. The body weight measured with the method of image analysis show a high correlation with the real values(R©÷$lt;0.9088).
2. Because of the reflection of natural soral ray and the relatively high noises caused by dark illumination, the correlation coefficient(R©÷=0.9088) between pixel value of top-view images and body weight was low than that of side view(R©÷=0.9455).
3. A computer vision system could be effectively used to measure the body weight of dairy cow. But the improvement of this system should be developed to compensate the effect of light reflection and the dark illumination on the image and also to minimize the movement of weighing cow.
